BLACK KNIGHT

Black Knight is a game that will not give you a moment's rest. The
computer will tale you to the beginning of a scene, then control is
handed over to your joystick. From then on YOU are the Black Knight,
and you've got to make your move before it's too late.

Deadly goblins, swordfights (press the fire button to use your sword)
poisonous snakes, horseriding, precipices, mazes, all animated to a
standard previously thought impossible - this game has it all!

Make no mistake - BLACK KNIGHT is a breakthrough.
This is the first time animation this quality has ever seen. It takes
16 sprites to move the Black Knight, up till now, 8 sprites have always
been thought to be the most you could get on the Commodore 64.

This game will be imitated for a long, long time.

THE BLACK KNIGHT, THE GOBLIN AND THE TREASURE CHEST.

In a far off land a Goblin has been guarding a trasure chest for 200
years. Although small in stature (naturally, being a goblin), he has
one quality which has meant that no-one has ever succeeded in taking
the treasure chest from him: he cannot be killed.

But at this very moment (well, as soon as you have loaded the game) the
Black Knight on his trusty horse, Kyle, is riding towards the Goblin's
Castle.

Can the Black Knight gallop through the Lowlands, avoiding the
thunderbolts, fireballs and crevasses?

Will he survive the menace of the Snake Plains?

Is he agile enought to get past the precipices? Is anyone that agile?

Once in the Castle, how will he cope with traps which will await him?

When he's in the Maze, will he be able yo find the key and then get
back out? What if he steps on a trapdoor?

But worst of all, what happens when he meets the Goblin whom he
cannot kill but who can kill him? Will his sword be enough to hold the
Goblin off? Or will be a dagger thrust from the Goblin signal the end
for the BLACK KNIGHT?

If you want to know the answer to all these questions, there's only one
way to find out! Get your joystick out, stick it in port 2, and start
playing.

TO LOAD: Hold down SHIFT, tap RUN/STOP.
